When watching a bonfire, it's more fun to sit around it.

You'd likely set up a fire pit, and if you're camping solo, place a chair with a table in between. If you're a duo, placing two chairs side-by-side facing the fire pit means you're not directly looking at each other, which often leads to more conversation while watching the fire. In my experience, when having drinks and talking in this setup, both parties are much more likely to open up and confess things.

Therefore, arranging chairs around the fire still feels more natural. For groups of three or more, gathering around the fire together is much more enjoyable, whether it's cooking a meal, roasting marshmallows if there are children, or just watching delicious meat grill.

Using a tripod drastically improves the ambiance.

If you place a tripod in the middle of a sunken hearth table and hang a pot from it, the atmosphere becomes incredibly good. Adjust the chain so that it's about 1 meter high and the pot hangs directly over the fire. Simmering beef stew or curry in the great outdoors like this will undoubtedly create unforgettable memories. My next camping recipe is to make rosemary roasted chicken over the bonfire.
