Basic performance

The synthetic insulation retains its warmth even when wet, and it's easy to care for as it can be washed at home.

The comfort temperature is the outside temperature at which most people feel comfortable when using this sleeping bag.

I myself am sensitive to the cold, but I will also include the temperature at which I found it comfortable after actually using it.

When using two sleeping bags layered together, the comfort temperature is -12 degrees Celsius, but in reality, -3 degrees Celsius is the limit.

When using only the outer sleeping bag, the comfort temperature is listed as 3 degrees Celsius, but in reality, it's just right at 5 to 10 degrees Celsius.

When using only the inner sleeping bag, the comfort temperature is -2 degrees Celsius, but in reality, I was able to sleep comfortably in temperatures between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius.

Therefore, the comfort temperature range provided by Snugpak should only be used as a reference, and we do not recommend using these in cold places below -3 degrees Celsius.

When using it at temperatures below -3 degrees Celsius, it's a good idea to use it in conjunction with an electric blanket or heater.

Disadvantages of choosing Snugpak

The downsides are that the zipper is difficult to slide and it's hard to put into the storage bag.

The zipper doesn't slide very smoothly, and until you get used to it, you might get the fabric caught in it and not be able to close it properly.

It can be a bit of a hassle when your hands are numb from the cold.

Also, even if you try to roll it up as small as possible when storing it, it's very difficult to put it into the storage bag.

I think it would be difficult for one woman to do this alone, so buying a string or belt that can be tied up to make it smaller would make storage much easier.

The advantages of choosing Snugpak

How to use the Snugpak Base Camp

I check the weather forecast to determine the temperature and decide which sleeping bag to bring.

I use two sleeping bags for temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius, just the inner sleeping bag for temperatures between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius, and just the outer sleeping bag for temperatures above 5 degrees Celsius.

Even with two sleeping bags layered together, my feet got quite cold on a mid-winter night when the temperature dropped to -6 degrees Celsius, so I added an electric blanket on top.

What I like about the Snugpak Base Camp

First of all, I like that both the outer and inner sleeping bags come in colors that are easy to match and look stylish.

I also like that it's easy to maintain; when it gets dirty or smelly, I can just wash it all at once at the laundromat and hang it to dry on the balcony.
