The book selected by WAITER-U today is "The Dictionary of Stones" by Raichosha, this being the sixth installment.
I got off at a station I rarely visit, wandered into an old-looking bookstore, and bought this small, beautiful book, "The Dictionary of Stones," based on its cover.
It introduces many beautiful minerals created by nature with watercolor-like illustrations. You can enjoy flipping through it, but it's also quite charming to close your eyes and delve into the stone on the page you instinctively choose.
When you're tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, or when you want to refresh your mind and body, by all means, read this book while listening to beautiful classical music. It would be even better if you have large headphones with noise-canceling capabilities.
As the title suggests, this is a dictionary of stones, so there's an index at the end.
You can look up stones by name, but the ability to reverse-lookup by color also gives it a curious charm, as if the convenience of digital technology has been incorporated into a book.
It seems Raichosha has released many other series of this dictionary, so I intend to collect them all if I come across them in a bookstore again.
