I got off at a station I don't usually go to, wandered into an old-fashioned bookstore, and bought this small, beautiful book, "Dictionary of Stones," based on its cover.
This book features many beautiful minerals created by nature, illustrated with watercolor-like touches. You can enjoy simply flipping through the pages, but it's also quite enjoyable to close your eyes and deepen your understanding of the stone on the page that catches your eye.
When you're tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, or when you want to refresh your mind and body, I highly recommend reading this book while listening to beautiful classical music. Ideally, you should have large headphones with noise-canceling capabilities.
As the title of this book suggests, it is a dictionary of stones, so there is an index at the end.
You can search by name, but the ability to look things up by color is also appealing; it's like having the convenience of digital technology integrated into a book.
It seems that Raicho-sha has published many other books in this series, so I intend to buy them all if I come across them in a bookstore.
