Today's playlist features songs carefully selected by WAITER-U.

This time, we present "The Style Council," a band formed in the UK in 1982.

Since they unfortunately disbanded in 1990, they might not be very familiar to people in Japan unless they belong to that generation.

I encountered this band in the 2000s when I was studying abroad in Melbourne, Australia, and staying with a single woman in her 40s.

Looking back, I strongly feel that it was quite an unusual place to stay. Usually, one stays with a family where there are local students attending the same school.

She was someone who seemed to be truly enjoying her single life and worked as a chef. So, she cooked delicious meals every night, and I learned all my proper table manners there.

Before dinner every night, she would ask me to "choose the music for today" from her floor-to-ceiling CD rack in the living room, and I, a 17-year-old at the time, would eat while listening to it.

Among them, I vividly remember how cool the intro to The Style Council's album "Shout to the Top!" was, thrilling me every time I heard it.

Now, 15 years later, I'd like to introduce this band to you, recalling the feelings I had back then.
