I bought it at Flash Disc Ranch, my favorite record store in Shimokitazawa.
This is a record store I've been going to ever since I first moved to Setagaya. It's popular because of its amazing point card system, which is valid as long as the store is open. Once you collect 50 stamps, you can buy any number of records under 15,000 yen for half price.
Shimokitazawa: A place that makes you want to spontaneously get off the train on your way home on the Odakyu Line.
Whenever I get off at Shimokitazawa, I always stop by here and buy a few records.
I've been doing that for about five years now.
"CHA CHA CHA" or "CHA-CHA-CHA" is a single by the Italian dance group Finzy Kontini. It's an Italo disco song based on the "cha-cha-cha" dance. Released as a single in Italy and France in 1985, it was released in Japan in 1986, reaching number 14 on the Oricon Singles Chart and topping the international music chart for nine consecutive weeks. Since Akemi Ishii covered the song in 1986, it has been covered by various other artists.
According to the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) announcement in 1987, this song ranked number one for the year and won the JASRAC Award for Best Foreign Work in 1988. A cover version by Akemi Ishii was released by CBS/Sony in 1986 and was used as the theme song for the TBS television drama "Danjo 7-nin Natsu Monogatari" (Seven Men and Women in Summer). This song reached number one on the Oricon Singles Chart and won the New Artist Award at the 28th Japan Record Awards. The intro and chorus were sung by Hiro Tsunoda, and some of the lyrics were changed from Japanese to English.
