Today's Playlist #11 "Tchaikovsky"

今日のプレイリスト#11「チャイコフスキー」

Today's playlist. This 11th installment features classical music by Tchaikovsky.

I bought it at Flash Disc Ranch, my regular record store in Shimokitazawa.

I've been going to this record store ever since I moved to Setagaya. Their loyalty card, which is valid as long as the store exists, has a popular and amazing system: once you collect 50 stamps, you get a 50% discount on any number of records under 15,000 yen.

Shimokitazawa is a place where I often feel like making an impromptu stop on my way home on the Odakyu Line.

Whenever I get off at Shimokita, I always stop by here and buy a few records before heading home.

I've been doing this for about five years now.

Tchaikovsky was a 19th-century Russian composer, and his works hold a particularly important place in Romantic music.

While researching, I learned that he had a difficult marriage and attempted suicide in the Moscow River, around which time he completed the famous "Swan Lake." He later acknowledged that he was LGBT.

Tchaikovsky was active mainly in the 1800s.

Although he lived 200 years ago, human troubles and the experience of living a life remain much the same between then and 2024.

At WAITER-U, we not only select camping gear but also music, books, and movies.

We've also created a playlist on Spotify, so please feel free to listen to it, perhaps on your way to a camping trip.
