This is a record store I've been going to ever since I first moved to Setagaya. It's popular because of its amazing point card system, which is valid as long as the store is open. Once you collect 50 stamps, you can buy any number of records under 15,000 yen for half price.
The illustrious career of a Dutch singer and television presenter
Gerald Jan Jorling (born April 29, 1960) is a Dutch singer and television presenter. He is known for his high-pitched tenor voice and rose to fame in the late 1980s. His representative singles include "Ticket to the Tropics" and "Love Is in Your Eyes," and he has achieved success in Asia as well, earning more than 20 gold and platinum discs.
In 1988, they represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Shangri-La".
His biggest hit, "No More Boleros," reached the top 10 in several countries across continental Europe. The song has been covered by many artists, including Clemente from Portugal, Sula Mazulenga and As Marcianas from Brazil, Karel Gott from Germany and the Czech Republic, Demis Roussos from Greece, Semino Rossi from Argentina, and Oliver Thomas and George Meiling from South Africa.
In 2005, Joling and singer Gordon appeared together on the television program "Joling & "Gordon Over de Vloer" aired, depicting the two men's work lives and humorous sides over three seasons.
In 2007, she hosted SBS 6's "Sterren dansen op het ijs" and "So You Wanna Be a Popstar," and it was another successful year for Joring, with two number one singles, one number one album, and eleven gold and platinum discs.
In 2008, she appeared as a team captain on the Dutch television program "Wie ben ik? (Who am I?)". In this program, the captain and guests try to guess who they are based on clues and questions. The other captain was Patty Bullard.
Joeling was scheduled to perform as a member of "De Toppers" at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow in 2009, but a conflict with Gordon led to his temporary departure from the group. Jeroen van der Boom then took Joeling's place. However, in December 2009, manager Benno de Lieuw announced in the "De Telegraaf" newspaper that Joeling and Gordon would be rejoining the group, making them a quartet once again.
Jorling frequently appears as a judge on various Dutch television programs. In 2018, she appeared on "The Voice Senior," and since 2019, she has been on the Dutch version of "The Masked Singer."
Gerald Jan Joring's brilliant career has seen numerous achievements in both music and television, and his charm and talent are loved by many.
